For beginning students, we will spend a good amount of the first few lessons in developing core fundamentals. Once we have a solid foundation, I will start to add in some exercises. I work out of many books to expose my students to different methods of playing. For more advanced students, I will work with them on developing more characteristic sounds. I was graduated from China conservatory of music in 2015. I started to teach in 2011. After graduation, I was accepted by university of Idaho with fully scholarships and TA position. I started to teach private lesson, ensemble lesson, theory lesson and woodwind technique lesson. When I think about a student learning wintry to put myself in there shoes. They want to feel like they have something to show for the time that they were the class session. . if we have an hour session and at the end of the session they can go out and show off what they learned then they will. For intermediate to advanced players this is a period to both evaluate strengths/weaknesses and to establish expectations for the teacher-student partnership. For beginners this is the necessary first step on their journey as musicians.
