Overview:
As a concert pianist and teacher, I have enjoyed traveling to many places to perform, instruct, meet new people and give my best to every audience. I have been honored to be part of the faculty at Florida International University and most recently a Faculty member of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan. My favorite place is the stage, I really enjoy playing master works in public and being able to communicate my emotions through music
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching since I was 14 years old, I used to prepared young children to take a test to enter an artistic institution in which I studied from age 9 to 17. I then realized how satisfying was to share this knowledge I had and always hoped to trigger in them the same enthusiasm I have for music. It's been over 15 years now and I have taught in many conservatories and academies in Costa Rica And Miami, in which the many experiences have helped to enrich my teaching.
METHODS USED
I like to use a seldom known method book which I recently found online, it has been the best method I ever used. I have used it in group lessons as I was working in FIU music preparatory program, the students learned to read both clefts really well and quick, understanding rhythm and sight reading occurred with no hassle!
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style incorporates the use of learning by ear and memory in early stages, I also like to incorporate selections by the students as long as they are appropriate for their level. I approach each student differently and I may choose different methods of teaching...some like to read and play... Some prefer to hear and play, the idea is to do what is best to keep them engaged in their music journey.
