I'm a driven and enthusiastic guitar and bass teacher that enjoys working with people and sharing my enthusiasm for music. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music in 2015. Performing worldwide has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career as a musician. I've been able to perform on significant tours across North America and Europe with multiple artists in various genres. I'm also a private bass and guitar teacher since 2015, with multiple achievements.
My teaching experience dates back to my college days, and I have been routinely teaching students in my home studio and online for the previous eight years. One of the major elements I want to emphasize for younger students is encouraging frequent practice on a consistent schedule, as it assists the student advance and developing a passion for the instrument. I've also discovered that combining classical and modern music can help pupils appreciate the piano and drive them to practice and learn more. I'm not doing my job if a student isn't having fun in class! My students are encouraged to participate in competitions, join bands, play recitals, and concentrate on composing their original pieces to be proud of their achievements and remain motivated to learn. I'm always on the lookout for new students of all ages!
I usually start by assessing my student's current level. If my student is a complete beginner, I have a tried and true method of getting them started quickly. Once the student has mastered the fundamentals, I will present additional exercises and songs to work on. For students that are already experienced players, I create a lesson plan that matches their level and their goals. Usually, I work on songs, incorporate technique and music theory exercises, and do not just learn them boringly. I tailor my lessons to keep the students engaged and, most importantly, to have fun, regardless of ability level.
Nothing beats seeing one of my pupils acquire an interest in music! As a result, each student must proceed at their rate. At each lesson, I promote this by setting realistic goals for my pupils, either learning the most challenging parts of a song or just learning a simple phrase that was hard previously. Recognizing accomplishments fuels students' desire to advance and prepares them to learn more. By attempting to discover what motivates the student, I can appropriately personalize my training to their wants and needs.
I started with Akos a little over 2 months. I hadn’t been playing long when I started but he has been a tremendous help in my progress. He initially showed me exercises to improve speed dexterity and timing and now he is incorporating different songs to teach more complex techniques and different styles of music. So it’s educational but also a lot of fun. I look forward to our lessons and highly recommend him.
I have thoroughly enjoyed taking bass guitar lessons from Akos. He not only teaches basics, but he also keeps me challenged with chords and new songs to learn. And importantly, he teaches at my speed which makes it easy and fun to learn.
I am a complete novice and am grateful to have a patient teacher like Akos. So happy to have connected with a teacher who is patient with a complete novice
My 10-year-old really enjoyed his first lesson! Akos was very patient and helpful. I was unsure about an online lesson, but everything went smoothly and my son learned.
