Overview:

Music is the power, engine and trigger of the best emotions and feeling I can think of. That's my main consideration about a lifelong relationship with music. I pick up the guitar for the first time at nine years old, after piano and cello, but I properly started my academic path at the Conservatory "Ghedini" (Cuneo) and the Academy of Modern Music in Turin few years later. I then graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, guitar performance with Summa cum Laude. Some of my notable mentors and inspirations have been Mick Goodrick; Daniele Gottardo; Bobby Stanton; Jim Kelly; David Tronzo; Tim Miller; Gianluca Ferro; Luca Allievi and Marco Roagna. My style is influenced by legendary musicians Steve Vai; Frank Zappa; Pat Metheny; Guthrie Govan; Joe Satriani, Santana and some others. They contributed a lot in my formation and interest towards several styles and genres. I am a Solo Artist as AM Dandy and AM Dandy & the Elements; Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals for Thunderpetz. In addition to that, I collaborate with artists and brands in person or remotely, as recording guitarist, composer, producer, arranger and occasionally as singer and bass player. To all this I am a dedicated instructor. Despite all the academic notions gathered in past, I like to approach the study of music in a very alternative way, to be clear very close to Victor Wooten's one. I started as clinician, having workshops about my style, and I started teaching both in Academies and privately since 7 years more or less. Many collaborations in studio, included Pop, Rock, Fusion artists and around Boston and LA. Live experience as solo artist, as Band Leader for NBD and as session man all around Europe, Japan and USA, also opening from international artists (Planet Funk; Steve Vai; Fates Warning; Arti&Mestieri; Doyle; Faster Pussycat; LA Guns; etc) Between 2018 and 2019 I collaborated as Lead Guitarist and Band Director with Berklee College of Music for a big project consisting in a memorial video live performance in honor of the Great Frank Zappa, available on the Official Berklee Youtube Page. I am also Founder and owner of Studio Thunderpetz LLC and Diamond Thunder Publishing

EXPERIENCE

As I mention in the paragraph before, my approach to teaching is based on the value of Your personal, unique voice. My main goal as instructor is way more important than teach you the usual, obsolete repertoire that most of the teacher use since the beginning of times, it is instead working on making the student a unique, unparalleled music individual, through the stimulation of improvisation, instinct, composition and having a great time jamming. I love to share my knowledge with students and seeing their progress week after week.

METHODS USED

I mostly do paperless. Less money involved, less waste of papers. I use a lot of videos and recordings. The principal instrument that needs to be trained is the hears. Brain and fingers immediately after. When a method is necessary, based on level of the student and topics studied, I recommend Creative Guitar by Guthrie Govan 1 and 2; Advancing Guitarist by Mick Goodrick and The Lesson by Victor Wooten. This last one is not properly a method, but an incredible book about music and musicians, that teaches more than the big majority of methods out there

LESSON STYLE

I am a very easy going, passionate and patient human being. I think discipline is game changer, but also understanding at the same time. Balance in between a good practice schedule and our will to actually seat and practice is a good key for someone at the beginning of her/his journey. For intermediate up to advanced levels discipline is not anymore a possible issue, so I directly work on the developing of their personal style, since in many cases is already flourishing to some degrees at those levels.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
