Overview:
I am an outgoing and aspiring Trombonist with a pure love for music. I want nothing more than my future students to cherish, learn the beauty of the craft, and have a deep appreciation for music. I am a fresh graduate from Kutztown University; grew up in Allentown. I've been performing since I was in 7th Grade. I've toured, recorded, and have played up to as much as four month's worth of shows. I am involved in several groups such as The Groove Merchants, Dorney Park Boogie Down Band, Center Stage Live Band, Pigpen Fun Band, and Lehigh Valley Urban Latin Orquestra. I am a diverse musician; genres know no bounds when it comes to my style! I play it all! I also have a deep understanding of Theory and I use music notation software such as Finale!
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience dates back to when I was a senior in High School. I knew I loved music; but most importantly; I wanted to make a difference. Being from Allentown; there wasn't much to do. I sought music as a gateway to greatness. I remember succeeding in school and my passion for learning and excelling at the Trombone was fulfilling. I knew as an Adult; I wanted to inspire people; and also kids the same way music inspired me and made me who I am today. I originally was declared BS in Music Education for the first four years of my College experience. I took a huge course load of courses that enabled me to be prepared to teach, along with several hours of observation in each and every level. I will teach anything the student wants to know specifically to the best of my ability and I will also enlighten them on things they may not know! I will also encourage practicing; as this is the sole reason anybody can play their instrument well. It definitely takes practice, coming from experience. It will be my job to ensure I can motivate and educate as much as possible with having fun but also with a purpose.
METHODS USED
My methods of teaching will be based on the level of the student indefinitely. If the student is brand new to the craft; then we would basically start off with making a sound out of the instrument. This is the quintessential aspect of playing that when placed with the right habits; can lead to greater success. It is so crucial to the process. I would then assign a beginner's book. Very cheap. If student cannot buy a book; we can work out an agreement since I have some materials! We would definitely read out of these books, and I will assign pages within the book as practice. Definitely would mix it up with a fun tune to learn for the student so that he/she can develop a repertoire. Over time, etudes, solos, and repertoire will be added. If a student is more advanced; I would switch up to a warm-up routine. If the student wants to work on etudes, solos, or other works we can look at them. Next, I would develop a routine based on articulation, intonation (etc) to refine those fundamentals and encourage the student to practice at all times. I will keep them very busy. Every lesson will be designed for each student.
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style is pretty straight forward and hands on. I like to ask questions and make people think. I also like for people to work at their pace. I will try to set goals for your student to achieve. I definitely like to tap into what the student likes and go from there! I like to utilize the instrument and have the student really use their listening skills to achieve great sound on the instrument. I also will go above and beyond trombone to develop the students musicianship. At the end of the day, these instrumentalists / vocalists are MUSICIANS.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
