I enjoy sharing my love for music with my students. Over the years, I have traveled to different parts of the world performing and participating in a variety of activities. For me, music is not just a career, it's my life. It is a form of de-stressing, a moment away from the busy city life. When I teach, I like to share those same ideas with my students so that they may understand, that although there is discipline and responsibility involved in learning an instrument, the principal goal is to enjoy the process and the results.
While doing my bachelor's degree, I tutored students for piano group classes and music theory. When moving to New York, I started teaching piano and voice students in the Queens while doing my master's degree. Two years later, I still have the privilege of teaching those students who have participated in recitals, with enthusiasm to teach more. While teaching, I like to be active in my profession. I participate in recitals, workshops and other vocal activities.
The classes are planned based on the individual's voice range. In general, classes begin with breathing techniques, followed by vocal warm-ups. Students at a beginner level will learn German lieder or Italian songs from the "24 Italian Songs and Arias" from the Schirmer's Publishing. For those at a higher level, we will work on arias from distinct operas and songs from distinct composers.
Being a teacher is a very enjoyable and honorable job which I take seriously. I like to see my student’s progress and enjoy themselves at the same time. For that I create a plan for each student, which is divided into smaller groups I call goals. At the end of each goal I like to present the progress to each student so that they may realize the potential they have to grow as a musician and as a professional. I encourage my students to practice on a daily basis by giving them the correct tools and guidance in the classes.
