I'm easy to get along with and have experience teaching and playing full time for living. I've taught kids, teenagers, adults, and seniors. You name the gig and I've probably played it including, corporate events, parties, weddings, hotels, casinos, cruise ships, traveling gigs in several states, and in the Bahamas too. I still truely enjoy playing guitar and consider teaching a great opportunity to share what I've learned over the years. You should give me a try if you'd like to have lessons with a teacher who cares and does his best to help you all he can.
I began teaching while in college earning my music degree. I have taught on and off since then as my schedule and travel allows. Most of the people I meet that want to learn to play guitar have a specific goal in mind. Some want to learn to strum chords so they can sing their favorite songs. Some want to play lead guitar. Some what to play in rock bands. Some want to prepare for and learn that which is needed in order to join their school jazz band. Whatever your goal is, I will be happy to assist you and to get you there as quickly as possible
I gear the lesson to you using whatever methods that may work for you. We can learn to read music and there are at least a few different method boods for that. We can use tabs and or play along with recordings as a method of study. We can learn music theory. We can study a particular style that appeals to you. I have a system that I like to use that will teach you every note on the neck of the guitar. We can practice technical exercises and scales. We can learn movable and non-movable chords. Which method is employed is a flexible consideration. I would suggest whatever method works best for you.
I'm easy going and practical and I do my best to help you succeed in any way I can. We can make lessons as bite size as you like or chunk it up for those who prefer that type of learning. One thing I hope everyone knows is that just like learning anything else that is worth while, it will take some effort on the part of the student to be successful. Regular practice will provide the best results. :) Lessons can give you focus and direction, answer your questions, give you inspiration, and prevent you from wasting time going down dead ends, and more, My style is to get you up and running in the direction of your goals as soon as possible.
