I've been teaching since college and in my home for about 6 years. I;ve taught generally beginners but am always looking to expand and share my knowledge. I encourage my students to be free thinking and self-motivated, but it is my job to guide you in the process. Music is universal, but we all have our own ways of interpretations the pieces we are working on. Consistency is key, but it ismy job help set good practice habits that make you want to continue and have fun along the way! I've taught kids of all backgrounds and just love sharing my knowledge that I have gained from teachers before me.

Depending on your experience, I will base it on that. There are many things we can learn without books and then as you progress we can introduce method books and eventually repertoire. I believe in slowing down to speed up, which means really taking the time to learn fundamentals before going beyond that. Once you master that, is when you can really start having fun with repertoire! No matter what ability level is, from student to professional, scales are always useful! We can always build off of the things we learn when we first start playing.
