I have my BM and I am working on my Masters in Vocal music Education. My passion is to teach young and old of any experience level to overcome stage fright, to improve their voices, to practice, to give advice, and above all educate them in music theory, sight reading, and music history. I am adaptable to different learning types whether you are a kenestetic, an auditory, or a visual learner.
My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4+ years ago, I had been teaching them out of my home. Encouraging regular practice is a key point I impress upon my students, with that being said, if a student isn't having fun in their lessons, I am not doing my job, Singing shouldn't be a chore! I especially love working with those who are proacticing for auditions of any type, professional, high school, choir, solo, theatre, or allstate. I really hope to begin working with you soon.
I do a mixture of a lot of different teaching styles. I really just adapt to the needs of my students. I strive to keep it fun and educational no matter the skill level!
I strive to set realistic goals and encourage my students to set realistic goals for themselves! This gives them an eagerness to learn because it is within their grasp. For example, If someone has a goal to be on american idol one day, I will have him/ her set a smaller goal to get there such as breath support or intonation. When they achieve this they feel one step closer to their eventual goal.
