Hi there! I can't remember a time when I wasn't involved with music in some way. I started in the Suzuki program in 2001, so playing the violin is like a second language for me. I have enjoyed both being a student and a teacher and I am ready to create a diverse studio of all levels, ages, and backgrounds. Being inclusive is something I pride myself on and it is the way in which today's music world is headed. I believe that anyone can be a musician, it just takes a little patience, a love for music, and a lot of desire to learn! If you are looking for a teacher who is knowledgeable, energetic, patient, and diligent, then welcome to my studio! :) My studio is a safe space for ALL INDIVIDUALS.

I believe in treating each student like the unique beings that they are. Some students take lessons for fun, some take lessons as an extracurricular activity, and some take lessons with dreams of creating a career in violin performance. Although the method for each of these students varies, I treat all of my students as if their specific goal is the absolute priority and I will do everything in my power to help them reach their goal. All of my students can expect to participate in the hundred-day practice method, which requires practice each and everyday (even if it is just scales or review). Once they hit one hundred days, they will earn a reward within the studio. Each student will be given their own specific "Violin Diet Plan" where they will be required to practice scales, learn musical terminology, develop right and left hand technique, study etudes, and learn solo repertoire (sonatas, concertos, show pieces, etc.). The specifics of each of these areas will depend on the student's ability level and goals.
My teaching style focuses on each student as an individual. I do not believe in making the student look or play exactly like me in terms of technique or style. I am kind, energetic, and engaging, but I can also be strict if it is required in order to meet the student's goals. I like to make learning and lessons exciting because it keeps the student engaged and inspired. Although students can expect clarity and consistency in terms of what is expected from me, I will never deliver my lessons in an exclusive way. Lesson delivery will be a combination of performing the assigned material, playing music together, having conversations about the music, or sometimes playing interactive games. Again, this will depend on the students age, ability level, and goals.
