2015- Merit scholarship for music at Corban university 2015-2018- worship pastor
I am a passionate and joyful teacher. I love working with students of all ages. I have been on the worship team at my church playing drums, guitar, piano, and singing for ten years. I have been the worship pastor for the last two and a half years. I have gone to both Corban and Multnomah university for music performance. I’ve played percussion for ten years, guitar for eight years, and piano for seven. Music is my main passion in life. I love to be able to teach and share my passion with others.
I began teaching about five years ago. I mostly have taught younger students, and I love to watch them learn and develop a passion for music. I like to look for fun ways to keep students motivated. I like to use lots of humor while I teach because I think learning should be fun, and music is an amazing art. I work with people of all ages on my worship team, and I love helping both people young and old continue to grow their knowledge and love of music. I want to encourage students to follow their dreams with music, whether that be a career, competitions, or for a hobby.
I like to start each student off with the fundamentals. I think the fundamentals are very important for every musician. Once you master the basics, then we can move on the solo repertoire, or start to develop each musicians individual style. I want the lessons to be both fun and engaging. So it’s important to find what kind of music each student is interested in and then develop that interest and passion. No matter what level of ability you start at, I always want the lessons to be fun and encouraging. Driving your love of music forward.
I love watching students learn and develop a passion for music. I love to inspire each individual student. I think it’s important to relate to each student in their own way so they each can thrive. I like to set goals during each lesson that are practical, yet give the student a feeling of accomplishment when reached. Goals are important to keep driving you forward and developing your skill. I want each student to be eager to learn more and love coming to every lesson. I want it to be a fun environment where passion can thrive.
