Overview:
I have always been passionate about music! I started taking lessons at 8years old and haven't stopped since. I knew right away that this was my calling, that music was going to be my life. I started teaching before I even graduated high school, helping and learning from my own instructors who helped me become a great teacher myself! I have had many amazing opportunities to play all across the country, including the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Lincoln Hall, Summerfest, and with Dizzy Reed of Guns and Roses. I have earned my certificate of Vocal Performance from Berklee college of Music, as well as studying with Steve Whiteman (Kix) and Mark Evans (Heavens Edge.)
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching my sophomore year of college teaching a beginner class aimed at teaching 5-8 year olds the foundations of music in a fun and interesting way. Soon after, I started teaching private piano and voice lessons to students age 8-18 as well as directing performance program shows. I have found that letting students pick their own material to work on helps keep them motivated and interested. Teaching music through song instead of teaching music and then song helps students connect the dots as well as making it more fun! If my students can hear the song they are working on on the radio, they are much more likely to get excited about learning! I am always willing to take on new students of all ages and skill levels!
METHODS USED
I use my own materials and lesson plans based on my past experiences and education. For beginners, I will generally start with simple songs like Sweet Home Alabama, I Love Rock n Roll, and Heathens. These are all songs that can be played and sung simply and most students have heard them already! For more advanced students, I allow them to choose their own repertoire and will teach within those songs. This keeps students excited and engaged. Students will learn the fundamentals of music in a fun and interesting way!
LESSON STYLE
I love seeing my students succeed! One of my favorite things about teaching is watching the students eyes light up when they achieve their current goal! To achieve this, I like to teach at the students own pace and with their chosen material. While it is very important to practice, I do not want to make music seem like a chore. By allowing the students to choose their own material, they are much more likely to self motivate! Music can be an exciting life-long experience! I want all of my students to have a love and appreciation for music!

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
