I am a very motivated instructor who really loves helping students of all ages. I am orginally from the Midwest and moved to New York City to persue opera performing. Recently, my family and I relocated to the Buffalo area and I am looking forward to working with some of the local musicians. This past year I debuted with Buffalo's Opera Sacra for their production of Maria Stuarda. I had the honor of holding the title role and I am currently working with them on other projects. I have also worked all over the United States and I have also sung internationally in Germany.
Fortunately, while attending graduate school I was given the opportunity to teach as an associate professor of voice at the Conservatory level. I worked with many different age groups as well as vocal styles. I encouraged my students to perform in a recital at the end of the semester to help them strive for their personal best. It was so wonderful to see how improved everyone was at the end of the year. Although some were nervous my students always thanked me for the opportunity to get up infront of their family and peers to push themselves to the next level. I am hoping to grow a studio of eager individuals who are willing to try new things.
I am from a traditional classical singing background. I use vocal exercises to not only strenghen the voice but to build a strong singing foundation. Hopefully, by the end of the lessons there will be no need for a microphone. For young singers we will focus on classic tradional basic song literature as well as have fun with popular music. Adults can bet that I will help them fine tune and build a sound and secure vocal technique for what ever repertoire they are needing guidance on. Each voice is different so depending on your level and your skill I will figure out how to help you succeed.
I am here to motivate you and make you better. We will figure out together how to keep moving forward and evolving as you improve. The voice is a living and breathing instrument. Each day brings new discoveries as well as challenges to explore. Singing is a journey and depending on where you are I can help move it along for you. Keep trying, keep an open mind, and learn to laugh at yourself. These things will help you just sing as you have never sung before.
