The concertmaster of UND chamber orchestra da the Greater Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra
I am very motivated person and so passionate about music. I hold one bachelors and two masters degrees from the Republic of Georgia, Finland and USA. Currently I am pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Florida. Besides my academic background, I have gotten many chances to play with amazing musicians and ensembles all over the world, like Finnish Baroque Orchestra, Juilliard Students Baroque Orchestra, Sakari Oramo, Minna Kangas. Those experiences led me towards more and more. I have been a concertmaster of two orchestras in the states and am looking forward to new experiences already in Florida.
I have been teaching for years and I am so proud I had a chance to teach back in my country, in Finland and currently in the states. I do not have a specific method of teaching and sharing my knowledge m, as I think, as a teacher you find a new approach once you get a new student. Everyone is different. How they learn, have fun or feel comfortable can be different from one another. I thought according Suzuki, Colourstrings, Russian school. So, I always find a way to make the violin playing more fun, easier for you.
We’ll see what you are interested in, what you expect from our lessons. We can start with Suzuki, Violin Essentials and follow them page by page, as well as we can add extra materials, exercises, what I find very useful and sometimes can’t be found in books. We’ll work and even play together, so that you do not have a stage fright eventually. Just grab a violin and we’ll find the way that works best for you. Also, feel free to share your thoughts about what you are dreaming to play. I’ll do my best to make it true
I am oriented to my students. I always try to start with their expectations and gradually add my advice to that, so that our lessons are your comfort zone where you feel safe and honest. Having conversations, getting to know each other are also an important part of our lessons to build trust with each other that eventually makes the musical process easier, better and more effective. Can’t wait to see your progress and plan next steps accordingly. I am sure the violin world is going to be very inspiring for you
