I am Andrea M., cellist with more than 20 years of experience. My cello professor came from the big schools from the United States, like Julliard School of Music and Yale University. I played in a lot of Orchestras in South America for 15 years. Now I’m doing a Artist Diploma in Duquesne University and also playing in some Orchestras around Pittsburgh. I really enjoy to teach and I’m very passionate for share my experiences and my knowledge with as much people as I can. I want to help to be yourself through the music
I was a cello teacher for a long time in many programs in South America, so I taught different kind of ages and different levels. I want to encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals, as well on composing their own material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I’m alway looking to bring on new students of all ages. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize to my students also gain passion for the instrument.
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Some exercises to get into the position to play and the knowledge about the instrument. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs..
