I'm a dedicated clarinetist and teacher who loves teaching and sharing the joy of music with others. In 2023, I graduated from The Juilliard School with a Master degree in Clarinet Performance and currently I'm an Artist Diploma student at Juilliard School. I'm a dedicated solo player, orchestral player and chamber musician and I've had the opportunity to play solo recitals in places such as St. James's Piccadilly in London or Paul Hall, Juilliard School. As an orchestral musician I've played as principal clarinetist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra in London and I was the principal clarinetist of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain in 2017.
My teaching experience goes back to my undergraduate days, I began teaching private lessons 7 years ago. I have a great experience for online teaching as well, as I recently had a variety of students to teach on Zoom. Currently I am a teacher at the Long Island Conservatory and I also teach privately. In my career I was also teaching music theory and piano and I did many workshops in primary schools where I gained a lot of experience to introduce kids and inspire them to start learning an instrument.
My methods are very creative and different for each students, depending on what the student wants to learn. I have a notebook for each student to keep track of how the student is progressing. I love to keep the lessons engaging and fun, sometimes I like playing duets or just sight read for fun. When I see that the students would like to make a career in music then I have many different technique etudes, orchestral excerpts and exercises to introduce them to. For beginner students I usually try to keep it fun, make them believe that the instrument it's easy and enjoyable.
Every student is different, that means that they all learn in different ways. I always love to find creative teaching ideas to tailor my instructions for every student. I like being organized and keep track of each student progress. Every lesson I try to keep the student inspired by playing with them, showing them recordings I like and setting goals. I encourage my students to enter competitions, I believe it’s great to have a realistic goal to prepare for. The most rewarding thing is seeing when my student is progressing and we achieve the goals we set.
Andrei is an extremely passionate teacher, he always has so much energy in the lessons and is very encouraging. I particularly love his teaching style because of the different things he does in lessons, we covered so many aspects of my playing and I developed my technique and musicality so much under his teaching!
Andrei is a colleague of mine. We’ve taught together in workshops for young students, and collaborated many times in chamber music settings. Andrei is a brilliant clarinetist and a passionate teacher. His dedication to his students and his warm heart make him an absolute joy to work.
Very caring teacher
Andrei is one of the best teachers I’ve ever had. He has so much energy in lessons and encourages his students. With him I managed to develop my technique and musicality so much. I highly recommend!
Andrei has been teaching clarinet to our son (now 9 years old) in weekly lessons since 2022. Andrei is a wonderful teacher who engages our son and challenges him. He is flexible and a pleasure to work with. And our son responds very positively to his instruction. He is also reliable and communicate about scheduling which is very much appreciated. When our son wants to learn new songs, Andrei is also always willing to help him learn an arrangement that works for him. I give him the highest recommendation.
I am an adult student who has had lessons with Andrei for the past 18 months and it would be an understatement to say that Andrei is by all means a top-class teacher. While lessons with Andrei are always carried out in a relaxed, casual atmosphere, we cover a lot of ground and I am delighted with my progress, having had no previous experience with musical instruments. In addition to working with me to develop a strong foundation in technique, he is also an exceptionally patient and kind individual who is happy to answer any questions about playing the clarinet, and music in general. Our lessons have become the highlight of the week for me, and I can't recommend him enough.
Andrei is a very creative and flexible teacher, he has a lot of patience and he’s also such an inspirational musician!
One of the greatest clarinet sounds I’ve heard, apart from being a great teacher Andrei is also an amazing performer! His lessons are always very complex, covering technique, sound and musicality
Andrei is definitely one of the best tutors have ever had. He's taught me over zoom for quite a while and he is a techique genius. My technique really improved over this period. He has a way of making it simple to grasp content.
