I am a classical pianist with a passion for music and a strong desire to help talented musicians discover the beauty of piano performance. My musical journey has taken me across the globe, providing me with a diverse and enriching educational background. I received my formal training in piano at some of the world's finest institutions: Saint Petersburg Conservatory top courses, Masters and Doctoral Performance degree from Saratov State Conservatory in Russia International Piano Academy at Lake Como in Italy University of Oregon in the United States. With this newfound opportunity, I am eager to explore the possibility of contributing my talents and experience to anyone passionate about piano performance.
My expertise in three key areas makes me a valuable candidate for your personal piano performance instructor: Piano Performance: Throughout my career, I have achieved significant success in international piano competitions, with the highest accolades, such as an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2019. Additionally, I was an integral part of the concert organization "Osobnyak Myasnikova" in St. Petersburg, Russia. During my student years and after I delivered several hundreds of solo, chamber, and orchestra concerts. Collaborative Piano: I have a robust background as a principal keyboardist in a Philharmonic Symphonic orchestra in Russia, gaining invaluable experience in collaborative music. I have also performed with numerous chamber ensembles and orchestras, contributing my skills to create harmonious musical experiences. Teaching Piano: In my role as a piano instructor, I held positions that would be akin to an assistant professor in the American system, both at the Saratov State Conservatory and the School of Music named after Rimsky–Korsakov in St. Petersburg, Russia. Over the years, I have had the privilege of nurturing the talents of over 100 students. Several of them were international-online students (Australia, USA, Canada, Mexico, Italy, China).
My approach to teaching piano is designed to be both inspiring and engaging, fostering a deep love for music while ensuring meaningful progress. I begin by assessing the student’s current level to tailor lessons to their individual needs. From this foundation, I focus on developing three key areas: 1. Technique – Building finger strength and precision through targeted exercises. 2. Stylistic Understanding – Enhancing comprehension of the composer’s style and cultural background. 3. Musical Knowledge – Introducing the basics of music theory, as well as the history and literature of music. By addressing these three aspects, my goal is not only to improve technical skills but also to guide students in bringing the rich, complex experience of each piece and composer to life. This holistic approach ensures growth as both a pianist and a musician.
As an educator, I am deeply committed to responding to the learning needs of piano students from diverse backgrounds in ways that are both pedagogically productive and personally meaningful. I believe in creating a comfortable and inspiring environment where each student can discover and nurture their own skills, express their individual voice, and explore unique interpretations of music. One key aspect of my approach is recognizing and acknowledging the diverse cultural, musical, and personal backgrounds of my students. By understanding their unique experiences and perspectives, I can tailor my teaching methods to align with their individual learning styles. For instance, a student from a rich tradition of folk music may bring a distinct sense of rhythm or phrasing to their playing, which I would encourage them to integrate into their classical interpretations. This not only validates their background but also fosters a sense of ownership and connection to the music. Furthermore, I guide my students to find a balance between authentic, historically informed performance practices and their own fresh, creative interpretations. For example, when working on a Baroque piece, I would introduce the stylistic elements such as ornamentation and articulation as well as strictness and academical preciseness typical of that era. However, I would also encourage the student to explore how they can infuse the piece with their personal expression, allowing their own voice to shine through while maintaining respect for the musical tradition. By fostering an environment that is supportive and responsive to the individual, I empower students to realize their potential and to develop their unique artistic identities. This approach not only enhances their technical and interpretive skills but also encourages a deeper, more personal connection to music, allowing them to flourish as both pianists and musicians.
There's no such amount of stars I'd rate Andrei's proffesionalism! It's never enough. I'm so proud to be a student of this outstanding teacher and pianist! Despite the fact that Andrei is very friendly and calm, you're still feeling being on a leash of his charisma and credibility. I can proudly say that he's got aliens fingers because nobody ever has played (for example) Henry Purcell's Ground in C minor with that kind of soft touch! Spectacular! By the way, today I've bought a new TV set and the first thing I did was watching this video. I've been still binge wathcing all he plays. I'm begging you to contact Andrei ASAP because this is a one in a life time opportunity. When life gives you Andrei, you make Andreimade (AND YOUR OWN SUCCESSS)!
Andrei is great professional! I got a lot of advices for my piano playing. No only improve my technical skills, but begin more clearly music nature understand!
I had many teachers and realized that Andrei has a unique approach. He not only teaches techniques and the basics of music, but he also helps to understand the nature of interpretation of each style. His technical exercises and choice of repertoire improved my playing very much. After lessons with Andrei, I have become more confident when I perform on stage in front of many people.
Andrei is a great piano teacher. He knows all the details about each composer. He also saved my interest in music. I was about to quit playing the piano, but his lessons increased my interest. He also taught me how to compose. His piano playing is just great. That shows that he knows piano music not only theoretically, but also as a performer. I trust those who can also perform, not only teach.
