I am a passionate teacher who loves working with students and sharing my love for music and the drums. In 2015 I graduated from Berklee College of Music in Drum-set performance and in 2017 I graduated from NYU with a masters in performance. Being able to be a working musician in New York has been a dream come true, and I have been able to play alongside some of my heroes. I am eager to help you reach your goals on the instrument. Whether it be just for fun, or to take your playing to the next level.
I began teaching before I attended Berklee College of Music, and have continued ever since. I teach out of my studio and travel to students homes as well. The main points of my lessons are to help you learn what you want to learn and correct any bad habits you might have. Primarily I want us to have fun together and learn in the process. I love listening to music with my students and checking out what interests you, along with recommending some listening choices. The key of my lessons is to make you the best musician you can be.
For beginners I start with basic drum technique, and then go into what ever style of music you might want to learn. For more intermediate and advanced players I create lessons around what you are interested in, plus I have you play for me and listen for any bad habits that may be holding you back. I also tailor lessons to undergraduate degree auditions, for those considering studying music in school. I work out of a lot of the common drum books, but also create exercises based on each individual student's needs.
My teaching style is simple, it is to help you be the best musician that you can be! Whether it is working out of books, or playing to records. I want to help you get to the next level! Having fun is also a huge part of my lessons, if we are not having fun then what is the point? I like setting goals and lesson plans for my students so that we can track your progress together. If you practice a little bit every day you will improve, and you will overcome any challenges you might have. For students looking to apply to undergraduate music degrees, I can tailor lessons towards that.
