Hello. My name is Anne and I have been teaching private lessons since 2006. I also sing around town in weddings and for special events. I sing mainly classical and jazz.
Music Degree- singing. I also accompany my students. For piano I can teach up to an intermediate level.
Singing: Bel Canto. I use the Vaccai exercise books for more intermediate singers. This helps to open up the throat by singing on Italian vowels. For repetoire I will use the Easy Song books for beginners, First Book of Songs for Intermediate and for more advanced students we pick out repertoire for specific voice types. For musical theatre I use the Singers Musical Theatre Anthology Series.
Piano: Young children (5 or 6 years old) I start with the Music Tree primer. Kids under 12 we start we the Faber Piano Adventures Series. Middle School and High School beginners I have start with the Bastien Books for Later Beginners. Adults I use the Alfred Adult All in One or Faber Adult all in One Books. I also use the Keith Snell classical series for extra classical repertoire. I also give my students various supplimentary pieces of different styles.
