ABOUT
Degrees / Training / Special Info:

Bachelor Degree: Mannes School of Music, Master Degree: Mannes School of Music

Awards:

2016 -2023 Mannes School of Music Merit Scholarship

Overview:

Music is my greatest passion and I would love to share it with you! I am an experienced violin/viola/beginner piano teacher who finds the balance between being strict and motivating my students to do their best, while also being patient and gentle and creating a fun learning experience. I graduated from the Mannes School of Music with my Bachelor of Music in 2020, and my Master of Music in 2023. I majored in violin performance for both degrees and acted as concertmaster for the Mannes Orchestra. I have performed at various prestigious venues across New York City, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Alice Tully Hall. Besides teaching, I am currently auditioning for professional orchestras around the world as well as playing concerts with my colleagues.

EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching music lessons since I was a freshman in college, pursuing my violin performance degree. It has been over 7 years and my passion for teaching students of all different ages and backgrounds continues to grow. Over the years, I've taught over 40 different students; some were my own private students, and some I taught at institutions around New York City. Seeing students fall in love with playing the violin and do their best to improve warms my heart and the feeling never grows old. I'd love to have you on board for violin, viola, beginner piano, or music theory lessons.

METHODS USED

I like to be flexible and change up my method depending on each student's needs and goals. Most of the time, I start beginners off with a book such as A Tune A Day, Suzuki Violin School, String Builder, or the Hal Leonard. I also provide other handouts with exercises and additional material. After some time, I like to introduce new etudes and pieces that suit their current level but also provide challenges to help them grow. I will curate their repertoire so that every piece learned gives them something new to take away. Adult students may have a more clear-cut goal of what they would like to learn or achieve, so I always work with the information they provide me and help them reach their goals. No matter the age of the student, I pride myself in being able to adapt and personalize their curriculum.

LESSON STYLE

I like to keep my teaching style a balance between being strict but also patient when needed and keeping it fun! I like to have open communication with the student or parents of the student to figure out what kind of teaching style they might prefer. If you want to be challenged and pushed, I can provide more strict instruction to make sure your goals are being met. If a student or their parents prefer to take it easy and just have a good time learning a new instrument, I will also be on board with that! Communication is everything; I'm sure we can find the best balance for you.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
