Hi. My name is Anthony G. I live in Harrodsburg KY. I'm 56 years old. I have been a musician for a long time. I played my first paid live show when I was 17. I can play anything you hear on the radio. I can not only teach you how to play the bass guitar, I can also teach you about recording, song structure, history of the instrument, and repairs and maintenance / care of your instrument. We can learn specific songs or I can teach you how to learn those songs yourself. To moms, dads, and adult students.......it doesn't cost a lot to get started on the bass. There are many quality entry level instruments and amplifiers on the market these days.
I have played professionally since I was 17. I have played for corporate shows, private parties, clubs and even doctoral level college ensembles. I have experience in bass, performance, and recording platforms and studio work. I have given lessons to members of Big Brothers and Big Sisters. I have given lessons to local charitable organizations. I have been a mentor to several local disadvantaged youths. Music provides focus, music provides purpose, music can make connections. My college degree is in Dispute Resolution & Conflict management. I am skilled in answering questions and communicating what I want.
There will be a mixture of digital online material, printed material and hands on learning. There are more online tools than ever. It is easy and cost effective to get started. Instruments can be purchased outright, rented and even paid for over interest free payment plans. I can provide those details to you when we speak. I will be finding out what the student wants to learn. I will be formulating a work flow to accomplish that. I will be able to show them how to play that particular piece and then have them show me how to play that piece.
I am about as laid back as you can be. Learning this instrument should be fun, since that is the level of commitment that most of us have. We lead busy lives as students, moms, dads, and caregivers. There is always something on the plate. I will make this fun, keep you interested, and make progress all at the same time. I will be teaching my student the components of the bass guitar, the components of songs, how they are written, how each instrument plays it's part in the construction of the song.
