My experience as a private instructor began as early as when I was a student in college studying music. I have always had a profound passion for teaching at the private level because it really gives me the opportunity to help an individual in a more focused and meticulous manner. I've always believed that music is much more than just reading notes off a book, but have understood that music has many different dimensions, including being able to feel what you're playing, your natural music inclination, your ability to listen meticulously to your sound and your pitch and so many others. I love to help students recognize that music is multifaceted and help them reach their full potential and being their greatest motivator and fan.

Whether beginner or a bit more advanced, I have always liked to return to the basic foundational knowledge and techniques that must be understood well in order to advance and have a good sound and a good technique. For beginners in piano, I like to find books that the individual feels comfortable with and that they completely understand what they are getting themselves into. Every person is different. For snare drum, I like to use a book called stick control which helps students develop mastery in the way they play from precision to striking the snare drum correctly and the way they overall develop their style of playing. For voice, I also like to give the person the opportunity to select a book that rightly fits their likes and dislikes and their level of understanding. For alto sax, I love to also focus on technique, excellent sound and mouth positioning and an overall sound and technique that helps them play in a variety of styles.
