B.A. University of Arizona, Voice
Represented by 90210 Talent as a singer-actor
I'm an up and coming singer-actor who was classically trained at the university level. I continued my classical training under the tutelage of a graduate of Philadelphia's world renown Academy of Vocal Arts and long-time performer of the Metropolitan Opera. I decided to train in contemporary musical theater and pop technique under the teacher of several Broadway stars. I have performed in musicals, short films and Operas here in New York City. Through my talent agency, I have recently been auditioning for many television shows, some of which required singing, and several Broadway musiclals.
As a teacher, I have worked on vocal technique and coached audition material with many fellow actors. I have also worked with high-schoolers on material from musicals. I am a very patient, fun and challenging teacher for all skill levels. I have small recording studio in my home that I use to make demos for my students, or record lessons and backing tracks. UPON REQUEST: this small recording studio is portable, and should a student want to record in their home or meet me at a rented studio I can bring the recording equipment.
Since I have trained a range of experience levels with a range of different goals, I always tailor my teaching to each individual student. However, I train all of my students using the best exercises I have learned from healthy classical, legit musical, pop, and rock vocal techniques. Even the most advanced students can improve when reviewing the fundamentals of singing from a new perspective. Custom lessons plans depending on the strengths and weaknesses of individual students, different bodies and voices present different paths to healthy singing..
The body is an important part of singing. My lessons often incorporate fun, sometimes silly but Always useful movement. I like to send students home with one challenge every week, and a larger challenge for every month. Success feels good for any student, and short term goals that tie in to long term goals are a good way to keep feeling inspired and developing a drive to succeed. Students are encouraged to bring in music they would actually ENJOY singing, in addition to music I assign based on various vocal challenges. Regular practice is essential, so enjoying your repertoire is a good way to improve regularly.
