Bachelor Degree: Lebanon Valley College
I’m a recent graduate of Lebanon Valley College (2022) looking to teach Choral Vocal Technique! I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Music and am currently working on my master’s degree in Vocal Chamber Music at the University of Redlands! This program is headed by former member of the King’s Singers, Christopher Gabbitas. An individual approach to choral singing is something that the community severely lacks! I have 14 years of choral experience and would love to pass that on to my students! I hope to see you soon!
This is my first time reaching out to potential students! I am looking to gain teaching experience through these lessons as I develop my own personal teaching style. I look forward to this journey and hope that you will join me along the way! While I do not have a whole lot of experience teaching, I do have experience in the choral field. I know how to collaborate musically with others as well as practice techniques that have worked for me in any of the choirs I have performed in. I would like to find the best way to pass my musical experiences and knowledge to my new students!
I will absolutely curate an individual approach to each student's skill level and experience, but all of my lessons will share the same core values. Sight singing, aural skills, music theory, and efficient practice techniques will all be at the forefront. I will use a combination of sight singing exercise books and real literature to help my students fine-tune their choral singing skills at an individual level. I will periodically assess all students to make sure we are taking the most efficient approach!
I always want to make sure my students can apply what they learn in my lessons to their participation in their actual choirs. If a student is preparing for a PMEA Choir audition, I will help them prepare the repertoire as well as provide a mock audition. If they sing in a church choir, we will work on sight singing hymns as well as working on any difficult literature. If they simply want to learn more about music theory, I will focus on that. These lessons are very much goal oriented and based on the individual student. There is no certain format. If you are interested in choral ensemble singing on any level, these are the lessons for you!
