Early on in my high school days I was helping classmates improve their musical skills. Turns out that I discovered my vocation. My pasion for helping, combined with my thirst and fascination for musical knowledge led me to pursue a career in the field of Music. I've been involved teaching, performing, recording and producing profesionally for more than 36 years and have helped more than 3000 students by now.
Since teaching was easy for me I've shared with students all along as I myself worked on my skills. I've had the joy of studying under great masters and I've modeled my teaching style around them. I'm eclectic when it comes to musical styles for I myself had too many loves. I'm trained in classical and jazz disciplines but have performed/recorded and produced others styles such as rock, pop and latin.
I'm comfortable teaching students ages 4+ but prefer starting at 7. Most of the time I'll use John Thompson series adding knowledge of harmony, rhythm and scales. I tailor my lessons to specific interest/needs of the each student. Currently I'm writing my own methods (voice & piano) in a series of progresive books/videos.
My style of teaching is relaxed, patient and encouraging but goal oriented. I want students to enjoy their lessons in a relaxed fashion while keeping them motivated to achieve their potential. I set realistic goals: short, mid and long term. This aids them not become overwhelmed with material or expectations.
