Welcome, children and adults! I want my piano students to feel like successes! I'm always proud of them. Very young children are shown how to play, so that once they learn, they feel good about themselves. As they become more experienced, I begin to let go of the reigns and encourage them to figure it out, with my help. Together we first review the pieces, and then I step in when there's a new concept or he or she appears uncertain. Questions are always encouraged, because students deserve respect. They have my complete attention. Older kids are challenged with mastering more complicated fingering and dexterity. Teens cherish independence, so we set larger goals. I'm always telling my students how proud I am of them, because each of them has gained a success. No matter what level they are on, I want my students to come away with a sense of accomplishment that, in turn, feeds their self-worth for a lifetime.
I am a traveling piano teacher who resides in The Hills in the Basking Ridge-Bedminster area. If you are looking for a local piano teacher, please call today. I train my students to build their skills progressively. Learning expectations are tailored for each student's level. I help students develop technical proficiency and interpretive skills. Methdology includes repertoire, scales, broken chords, arpeggios and drilling. Feel free to ask to talk with any of my families and students about me.
Classes for Young Students Young students are taught fundamentals of theory and music reading. Children experience the basics of music through rhythm, form, and melody with piano. These classes provide an excellent foundation for learning piano. A fun, written theory workbook will be introduced. Junior Piano Classes Elementary through intermediate level lessons are designed to give the budding musician a comprehensive introduction to music fundamentals as well as more advanced topics. Students learn basic music material rhythmic awareness and basic reading during the first two years, while the fundamentals of music theory and form are stressed in years three and four. Students continue the work begun in the elementary coursework, including more advanced sight-reading. The repertoire is expanded to include longer selections. Pre-Advanced Piano Classes Beginning in middle and high school, students enter Senior Classes, which requires more complicated repertoire and more intensive technical training.
As a piano instructor, I enjoy fostering musical passion by coaching others in their musical aspirations! I listen to and patiently guide my students, and always end a lesson with encouragement and praise. I believe that all who have a desire to learn, from children to teens to adult beginners, can easily learn piano. My piano classes are designed for continuous music study beginning from early ages or adults returning to piano. Nothing is more gratifying than see students progress and feel proud of themselves!
