I believe I have the ideal combination of knowledge, training, and experience to make an invaluable contribution to Musica Lessons. Since graduating with my Master’s degree in Clarinet Music Performance in 2002, I have performed with numerous musical groups, including bands, orchestras, and ensembles, all over the world. For 12 years I performed with the Sudecka Philharmonic Orchestra in Poland as a clarinetist and pianist. I worked aboard a Japanese cruise ship and played clarinet and saxophone as part of the ship’s band. I enjoyed being part of many musical ensembles (including the Supertonic Orchestra in Dublin and Anashim in Poland) and went on to found the klezmer music ensemble ‘Klezmerado’. I performed playing the clarinet with this group at over 100 concerts all throughout Poland. Additionally, I have taken part in several musical projects across Europe aimed at bringing professional music to children. Not only do I have extensive experience playing as part of orchestras and ensembles, but I also pursued music pedagogy, and during my many years of teaching instrumental music, I was able to further develop my own skill as a performance musician. Furthermore, I had the privilege to lead two different orchestras as a conductor, and woodwind and piano teacher. I composed music for a theatrical production, and also recorded several albums including klezmer music, smooth jazz, musical poetry, and music for healing and meditation.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons 16 years ago. During my international travels I had chance to teach in different countries like Poland, UK, Ireland and now USA. Because I graduated MA of classical performance my teachings were based on classical theory and practice but my passion is Jazz and I took classes and courses in School of Jazz and begun to teach this type of music as well. I'm teaching with wide open point of view on the music. Classical, Jazz, Klezmer are my favorite styles.
METHODS USED
There are many teaching methods for music performance. I choose the method which is suitable to an individual student. From the early childhood up to adult age. I am able to provide the materials with music notation and theory of both Classical and Jazz styles. Once I recognize the ability of each individual student I choose the path of development to everyone separately. I believe everyone is an individual and to help him grow musically the best way to teach is to discover the point of advance then choose the individual way of education.
LESSON STYLE
I teach mostly Classical up to advanced level, jazz for begginers and also Klezmer and Folk styles. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing any of my students develop a passion for music and especially the style he loves. For example Classical period of XIX century or traditional Klezmer European style. There is always a challenge to choose good repertoire and teaching methods to each individual student. Seeing them grow is one of the best reward of this job. There's nothing better in the world seeing how the kids react to the progress they make. Happy face and beautiful sounds coming out of the newly tought student is a big challenge and wonderful experience for me.
