MM, Chicago College of Performing Arts, Vocal Performance BS, Indiana Wesleyan University, Biology
Overview:
I have studied vocal performance for many years, and continue to add to my own technique. I have been in many productions and love sharing my knowledge with students. I got my Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University, and am finishing my Masters of Music at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching studnets of all ages and experience levels for 4 years. I previously taught at the School of Rock, before starting my own private studio. I encourage all of my students to get as much performance experience as possible. My students can be seen performing all over Chicago. I have helped several of my students prepare for a role, work on their original music, and record CDs.
METHODS USED
I teach students how to use their entire body as an instrument. I teach the arpeggio technique of keeping an open throat and diaphramtic breathing. I also teach vocal alignment and pure vowels.
LESSON STYLE
I love helping my students achieve their dreams. I work with each student to set realistic goals for each lesson. I also encourage students to record their lessons so they can track their progress along the way.
