I'm a passionate and motivated vocal instructor in Southern California. I specialize in Master Class vocals for very advance singers, but also cover the very basics to pass on master vocal knowledge to the beginner singers. I am an artist, performer, as well as a student. I believe that in order for my students to gain higher level knowledge, the most important thing is to continue to learn. The moment your desire to learn is gone, you will have stopped improving yourself as an artist. This is one advice I would like to give ALL artists!
I started out teaching group sessions for local singers in Southern California at no cost for 4 years starting in 2013. Eventually, students from the group classes started to seek me out for individual lessons and I was also invited to be the lead vocal coach for a singing competition called ETTV Top Stars held by ETTV America in 2017 as well as 2019. Being an artist myself, I love teaching young aspiring artists the knowledge and watch the surpass how far I went in the entertainment business.
First lessons are always about getting to know your students. Every habit or detail about how you phonate will establish the grounds for what vocal exercises will be given to fix current bad habits. The students background in music is also just as important. This includes instruments played, amount of time they have played said instrument. Similar questions regarding student's vocal experience as well as what their best choice of learning method is. Finding out if the student is a hands on learner or visual learner will help you suggest the method you will proceed with.
I believe that the best results will always come when students truly love what they are doing. Therefore, it is important to me to make sure that the class is enjoyable. I encourage students to set goals for themselves on what they need to accomplish at each lesson. Lastly, praise and acknowledgement must be given as much as possible. Sometimes, the error's you are making during a performance isn't about technique, but about self confidence. I would like my students to leave the lesson feeling that they have a better grasp on singing as well as higher self confidence!
