Brandi is a Professional Flutist and Performer residing in Columbus, OH. Brandi holds a Bachelors Degree in Flute Perfomance from Florida State University where she studied with world renowned Flutists, Eva Amsler, Stephanie Jutt and the late Charles Delaney. She holds a Masters Degree in Flute Performance from Ohio University where she was awarded the Graduate Teaching Assistantship. Originally from Long Island, NY, Brandi began her Performance experience at the young age of 8, performing for corporate events and Weddings alike. Feeling at ease on stage and eager to share her talents, it is no surprise that her love for performing and teaching go hand and hand. Brandi specializes in dealing with Performance Anxiety, the Art of Practicing and supplying her students with the necessary tools to become their own Teachers. Brandi performs throughout the Columbus Area with Women In Music as a soloist and chamber musician. She is a member of the New Albany Symphony and The New Albany Winds. Brandi is also co-owner/partner of a Flute and Cello Duo performing throughout the Columbus Area for Weddings and special occasions.
One of my specialties is discovering my students Learning Style. With over 15 years of Teaching Experience, I have had the pleasure of encountering all types of Learners. Whether you are an auditory (hearing), visual or kinesthetic (hands on) learner, I take care in catering your lesson plans to your strengths. In addition to standard Repertoire and Method Books, I will create targeted Etudes/Studies to further enhance your learning process. One of my goals as a Teacher is to create other Teachers. Practice time is one of the most crucial aspects of any Musician/Performer and is generally done alone and in between lessons. It is my job and pleasure to help you effectively practice and give you the necessary tools to become your own teacher.
