Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, Saint Louis University, Baguio City, Philippines
I started playing piano at age 5 and finished a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Piano Pedagogy from Saint Louis University. My 16 years of classical training helped me attain a teaching position at the Yamaha School of Music in the Philippines and a rewarding teaching career at the Florida Conservatory of Music in Jacksonville, Florida. Along with a colorful musical career, I also gained experiences in teaching Humanities at Baguio Colleges Foundation in the Philippines. The ability to sight read and effective note reading skills are just a few of the many endowments I can teach plus an impeccable love for music and a good musical foundation. My students will also learn to play with expression and know how to perform with confidence.

I tailor my teaching methods based on my students' individual needs. I use the following methods: The Alfred method uses a lot of colored pictures and graphics. The Bastien Method The Piano Party Series is great for those little ones who have never had lessons before. It is a lot of fun for the teachers also. We would suggest that the lyrics of the pieces be omitted, but the pictures and graphics are positive. Faber and Faber: The books by Nancy and Randall Faber are a popular and heavily promoted piano "method" with many adherents. The Faber and Faber beginning books can serve a teacher well who needs a pre-programmed series of books to follow as a starter for their teaching. Each page of the books embodies delightful graphics and is cross-referenced to other books in the series along the outer edge of each page. There are good practice suggestions given for most of the materials such as counting aloud and holding the hands in a rounded position on the piano.
One on one and individualized instruction. I also demonstrate and perform the songs to my students so that they can have an idea on how to go about playing the song. I teach by rote, demonstration and give them a step by step explanation on how to play the song or music.
