Overview:
Hello! I have performed and taught music professionally for almost seven years now. I began my journey as a music producer, working of several major label artists and bands over the last few years. I started music instruction in Atlanta, Ga and have taught groups as big as 20+. I've most recently instructed at the Miami Fine Arts Academy as a Music teacher and instructing private drum classes (2018). I have a passion for facilitating musicianship and creativity through the arts. Let's learn together!
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience is extensive, dating back to 2011. I've worked with multiple academies nation-wide and also as a private tutor. Being a facilitator/instructor is about teaching in a way that students can grasp easily. Instilling fundamentals is the starting point, and steady progression is key. I have taught long enough to develop my own personal curriculum which is accessible to all ages and skill levels alike. From children as young as four years old, to mature adults, everyone can learn!
METHODS USED
I have built my own personal curriculum based on fundamental elements, and which slowly progresses to the more difficult concepts and skills. The curriculum is also multi-dimensional; it is tailored to the interests and needs of the particular student, whether a beginner or advanced. Many different genres and styles of play are included, from classical to more modern styles. I also incorporate many "skill games" which keeps students engaged and adds a bit of fun to instruction time. The perfect mixture of instructor and excitement!
LESSON STYLE
My passion for music instruction is like no other, and that is well demonstrated in my style of teaching. Three words to describe my teaching style would be communicative, patient, and progressive. I believe patience is one of the most important factors in becoming a great musician, and is something I instill in my students. There is no overnight success, and skill is built by hard work and repetition. Though this is true, hard work does not necessarily have to be tedious or boring. This is why I include games within the curriculum; more enjoyment usually equals more progress!
