I love to play and teach. I am always looking to pass on my knowledge of drums. My time at AIMM, fine tuned my skills for every situation. My reading skills are my among the top abilities that I believe will set me appart from the rest. I have always love the drums from age 13. My studio is very down to earth. No frills,just lots of hard work. ( and alittle fun )
experience: I started teaching back in high school to a few friends. It grew from there. I absolutely love it. My father teaches guitar, My brother teaches drums as well. They are back in Iowa. I do swear by the books I received at AIMM. Once a student grasps reading,there is no stopping him or her. I love to teach every style under the sun.
Reading is my main way of getting things into perspective. I originally learned by ear, it paid off for live situation but, reading is where I found the most connection. Once that is accomplished the ear and the mind will be in tune. I also do enjoy listening to the student for their wants and needs.
Listen to the students with an open mind. Figure out what they want to accomplish and then employ the proper skill set to get the job done. I do love to be positve and have lots of patience for all playing styles and types.I record lessons for the student to evaluate to see their progress.
