I am a patient, enthusiastic teacher who enjoys helping my students become skilled in the art of guitar. I studied at The Hartford Conservatory and the Hartt School of Music, graduating at the top of my class with high honors from The Hartford Conservatory. My home studio is conveniently located near many shopping areas. I have performed in many bands with diverse styles of music. I have had 25 years experience playing in rock/pop bands, currently performing with country artist Frankie Justin Lamprey. I've performed several times at the Oakdale Theater, the Rock Cats Stadium, and have also done a number of radio and television interviews.
I've had 15 years of teaching experience. I have been a guitar and bass instructor at Choate Rosemary Hall since 1999. I also teach at SacredHeartUniversity in Fairfield, The Music Shop in Southington, and BackBeat City (performing arts center), located in Glastonbury, CT. I have also taught in my home studio for the past two years. I enjoy helping my students in building a repertoire of their favorite songs. I also use the traditional method of helping them become skilled in reading music. Twice a year, I have student recitals which are highly enjoyed by both students and their families.
I've had students use the FJH Young Beginner Guitar Method and Hal Leonard Guitar Method books for learning how to read music notation. I've also used Hal Leonard Guitar TAB Method for learning chords and riffs.
I encourage each student to build a list of their favorite songs. This helps them to always have something new, and something to review. It is very rewarding to see my students being able to play one of their favorite songs from beginning to end. I also help my students create their own original songs when they are inspired to do so.
