Because I was working on my Masters in Collaborative Piano, I have only recently had the opportunity to teach more students. I am a firm believer of meeting every student where they are and not trying to push my own agenda or vision. Each student has unique goals and dreams. It is my job to help them achieve those goals while nurturing a joy and permanent love for music. In order to see progression and produce passion for their instrument, I emphasize a consistent practice schedule. I will always encourage students to take an active and creative roll in choosing their repetoire so they feel involved and stay motivated to learn.

For young beginner to intermediate piano students, I use the method "Piano Safari." Along with their repetoire books, a technique book and set of theory flash cards are used as well to give a wholistic approach to the instrument. I am a firm believer in a "whole body" approach which includes marching, tapping, and singing. This developes heightened aural skills as well as utalizing different ways of learning. As the students grasp the fundamentals, we will work towards a repetoire list for their first recital! For voice lessons, I will listen to their voice type and areas of interest. Good technique is the foundation for every vocalist, so my students will focus on breathing, posture, vowel shapes, and diction. I will assign specific excercises for their voice type and will pick repetoire based on their interests. Students will focus on a large body of repetoire from pop all the way to opera.
