I am a passionate musician with talent. I would love to pass my knowledge on to young and inspiring musicians, learning to play the drums or mallet percussion. I marched for the Mooresville Senior High School Pride and Motion marching band for 4 years. I also matched for a WGI Percussion Independent Marching Open drumline called Fusion Percussion for 4 years. I’ve been playing drums since I was 9 years old. Allow me to pass that knowledge onto you or your child. I have the required knowledge to make a beginner drummer and advanced level drummer
I have been in percussion of 7-8 years. Doing marching percussion. Indoor and outdoor marching band as well as my church band playing drumset. I love music and would love the opportunity to teach you or your talented child. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I'm always looking to bring on new students of all ages!
For teaching I will start with basic technique and rudimentary skills needed to perform on a drum set. After mastery, I will start to incorporate other pieces of the drum/drum set into our lessons. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Basic Rudimentary movements. I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
I would love to see my students care for his /her music/equipment the way I do. I will teach how to acknowledge their accomplishments and keep them motivated to keep going. Teach them the power of music. Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. I want my student to live music the way I do.
