I'm a music teacher with 8 years of teaching experience and 17 years of performing experience! I love sharing that experience with students of all ages to guide them on their musical journey. I achieved my bachelors degree of Music Performance at the Schwob School of Music studying percussion, and have performed with wind ensembles, orchestras, percussion ensembles, as well as popular music ensembles. I'm well-versed in classical studies, but love playing and teaching rock, pop, blues, funk, as well as fundamentals of music and practicing on a variety of different instruments. I also have a passion for composition/ music production, and am eager to introduce students to music theory and audio technology. I'm happy to accomodate students of all ages and backgrounds and looks forward to helping you all grow!
I've been teaching since college, teaching percussion ensembles and private percussion lessons, before eventually branching out into teaching private lessons on all the instruments I know! Since my time as a teacher, I've worked with hundreds of students and have become proud of all the growth I've seen in them. Working with so many students has also been educational for me as a teacher, and I've begun to develop methods through that experience that I can bring to new students. Maintaining flexibility along with developing structure for my students is important, so I'm looking forward to leading with my students' interest!
I like to emphasize what good practice means and how it relates to my students' goals. I then teach larger musical concepts through the pieces of music that my student wants to learn in order to maintain motivation and interest- music is meant to be fun and enjoyable after all! I'm happy to head in whatever direction my student wants, whether thats continuing to learn songs, making thier own music, or delving more into music theory and intrumental techniques. As we move past the beginner level, it's always fun to continue challenging my students to improve their playing, and becoming more aware of intracacies they may not have noticed at first!
I've found that being flexible and adaptible is most important to me, as everyone learns in a different way. I place a lot of importance on following student interest and goals as well, since it doesn't matter how great your instruction is if you're bored and don't want to keep playing. I think every student should get as much out of their lesson experience as they want, whether that means a more casual experience where you're not practicing too much throughout the week, or holding my student more accountable if they express more ambitious goals. I'm here to help you achieve whatever you're looking for musically.
Cameron has been teaching my 9 year old ukulele, but has really gone past that to teach him more in-depth musical concepts. I'm a musician myself, so I appreciate how he's able to take intermediate concepts and make them digestible for a beginner. He does great with kids, and lets me know how I can help my son practice between lessons. I highly recommend Cameron!
Cameron is timely, professional, and knowlegable. My son has been learning piano with him for a year now and has improved dramatically. I sit in on lessons to help because my son is 7 years old, and Cameron will include both of us in the lesson to engage my son, but also help me show him how to practice correctly. I could not be happier with our piano instruction from Cameron!
I was wanting to learn how to play the ukelele for some years and finally decided to give it a try. Mister Cameron was a really good instructor for this. He taught me the basics and was determined to help me in the best way and a true professional. Make sure to ask him to show you his rendition of 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' he is really talented!
I've been learning piano with Cameron for a year now, and I went from not knowing what the notes are to being able to play Fur Elise (not full speed still lol). He's super nice and always willing to work with my busy schedule!
Cameron helped me learn a song I've been wanting to learn forever! Very knowledgable and patient!
Patient with my two boys learning! Great instructor
I am a high school band director and Cameron was our percussion instructor last school year. He did a wonderful job with the students! He covered all areas of percussion from marching band, to concert band, and even percussion ensemble. He pushed the students and expanded their skills on all percussion instruments, all while keeping things engaging for the students. He programmed for and rehearsed our three percussion ensembles last year. Cameron was an integral part of our band program and our students loved working with him!
My daughter has special needs and hes so good with her, patient and shes getting better
