Hello! I am warm and friendly, assertive when necessary, most of all I push students to go a step further in each lesson, once I see and hear what they could be capable of if challenged. I motivate and embrace each student’s originality while helping them improve and have fun!
A little about me, I received a Master's in Vocal Performance with a focus on vocal technique, breath coordination, crossover vocal style, coaching, and dramatic interpretation. As a Singer and Songwriter myself I can advise on what is needed to enhance your talent and develop vocal stamina with proper vocal technique and exercises to help reduce strain and fatigue while doing shows.
Voice and Piano Instructor, Vocal Coach, 7/2002 - Present
Offering professional voice and coaching services in studio and online in DC/MD/VA. Focus on vocal technique, breath coordination, crossover vocal style, coaching, and dramatic interpretation.
My vocal studio focuses on honing technique, projection and stamina, breath and body coordination, dramatization and stage presence, as well as learning and applying concepts in music theory and appreciation. I help develop technique and restoring voices of all genres, and specialize in crossover and contemporary talent. Students will also receive advice and holistic resources on nutrition and diet, maintaining vocal and physical health, ways to relieve vocal strain, muscle tension and anxiety, artist development, and lyrical analysis of songs.
Voice Lessons and Coaching: Ages 10 - Adult
Beginning Piano Lessons include concepts of fingering, keys, scales, chord structures, sightreading and theory, and how to play by ear! Lessons aren't always taught in a book -for instance with the younger students I step outside the box with songs and activities to make piano fun to learn.
Piano Lessons: Ages 4 and up
Students will receive strategic lessons intended to help achieve personal goals through technical development while honing your craft with focus and confidence, key to attaining peak performance and receiving fulfillment in sharing your talents with others.
I don't offer a common style of lessons with all students, instead I design a course of study based upon each student's interests, personality, and the direction they want to go with their music, and after a few sessions of working together, I like to select repertoire that showcases them well and peaks their interests. Some techniques and concepts are commonly shared within the studio, however sessions may take a different direction of music study based on discovering a student's strengths and weaknesses and how to build upon on certain areas in their training so his/her lesson is productive.
