Overview:
I'm a passionate and motivated instructor that loves to share the passion for music. I was always taught having fun and motivation to learn more and that's the only way I teach. In March 2015 I graduated from Los Angeles College of Music in Drums Performance and in August 2015 I got my artist visa for the U.S. due to my experience as a performer and my current projects in Los Angeles. I also teach piano for beginners since I've received classes of classical piano since I was 7 years old until I was 14. Touring, studio, little acoustic sets, radio performances, teaching...all counts to make a better player/performer. And that's what I also share with my students: experience.
EXPERIENCE
I began teaching drums private lessons 6 years ago in Spain, and have been consistently teaching students in my studio since I moved, 2 years ago, to L.A. All ages and inquires are welcome. It's all about finding the passion for music and having fun with it. Every homework can be a lot of fun and that's what we will look into. Lessons can be in English or Spanish. In piano, I began teaching 3 years ago for beginners that also needed the basic of music theory.
METHODS USED
For beginning drums students, I typically star with a simple beat that the student feels good about. From then, we start learning important concepts as dynamics, tempo, intensity, groove,... Once the student has a grasp of the fundamentals, we can take a look into learning specific songs that he/she likes, reading, new styles/approcahes, preparation for a recording, composition,... Always keeping the lessons motiviating and fun, no matter the level. For piano students, we start having fun playing a very simple melody, and from there we try to go deeper in terms of music theory, fingers tecnique, songs accompaniment,...wherever the student wants to go.
LESSON STYLE
I love to teach cause I loved the teachers I had. What they played, what they taught me and what they said. And that's my approach. Music is not just notes. Music is an experience, a fun one. Technique, styles, reading, rudiments, playing with the click, tempo exercises, coordination,...All ages and specific inquires are welcome! My goal is you to have good times playing! Both piano and drums students I offer the possibility of playing along with the student to make it a lot of fun and richer! If the student plays drums, I'll play piano with him and viceversa so we can jam together!
