As an instructor and professional musician, I teach and motivate my students to develop their skills and expand their musicanship. I graduated from Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College, NYC, with a Master of Music. I'm very fortunate to have the opportunity to play with many extraordinary musicians here in New York City and around the world. I'm passionate about music and I love to teach students how to focus their passion for music into a finely honed technique. I truly believe that music can change people lives, I know it because it has changed mine for the better.
I began teaching private lessons In Zurich, Switzerland, where I received my Bachelor of Music in Performance and Pedagogy. I've taught students of all different ages, skill levels, and backgrounds. I encourage all my students to practice consistently and to play with passion, energy, and musicality. Now living in the US have had the experience of teaching not only individual lessons but group lessons, also I work as a Musical director for Bergen Performing Arts Center where I had the opportunity of directing different musical like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as well as the Lion King Jr.
For young beginners, I typically start with keyboard exercises and basic lessons in music theory fundamentals and ear training. Upon mastery of a few fundamental skills, students are introduced to a range of compositions that they can choose to learn to study and to play. For all my students at various levels, I assess their abilities and consistently challenge them to sharpen their skills. Now i'm incorporating concentration, breathing, counting and stretching exercises. Also I help designing an individual practice routine for my students.
Teaching and watching my students grow and develop as musicians is truly a rewarding experience. I help them accomplish their goals by understanding where they are and by setting challenging, fun, and realistic goals for each lesson. I'm a patient teacher who believes in being positive and giving honest and consistent feedback to my students. My goal is to create a disciplined but friendly environment for me and my students where respect and focus are the main pillars of every lesson allowing this way to enjoy the music learning process.
