2018-2019- Private School Music Teacher

Overview:
I have been playing the clarinet for several years and I am very passionate about music but I have a bigger love for seeing my students enjoy music as well. I am in my last semester of undergraduate school for a major in music education. I have done church performances, hosted a recital and have performed in a trio. I spend my time volunteering alot and I have an executive board position in my schools chapter for the National Association of Music Education. I have attend several in service conferences for music professional development as well. I have experience playing many different instruments and I can also teach general music as well.
EXPERIENCE
Even though I am still in school I actually have a job as a music educator already! I teach at a private school and I absolutely love my job! I am a self taught instrumentalist but I also have taken lessons as well. I do not have a huge amount of private lesson teaching but I have experience group teaching and teaching a class. I only want the best for my students and I want them to succeed and have a love and appreciation for music. I want music to be fun and exciting and something they want to do and want to continue to do. I will and always do encourage my students to see the best in themselves and to strive for it as well and that they can and will do whatever they set their minds to!
METHODS USED
For a beginner student, I tend to use the Rubank method books there are several for specific instruments. This book is just a guide though the majority of my lessons are student based. I take into consideration their level and what they can accomplish in their own practice and dedication. For adults or advanced students I want to see where they are and what they need help or work with. I will look at technique and areas of improvement and start getting them into harder repetoire. I want my students to enjoy what they are doing as well. I want to cater to what they like maybe as a special lesson let them relax and learn a pop song or rock song something that they like to keep them motivated and loving playing.
LESSON STYLE
My goal and focus is on the individuals success. From where they start to where they end I want them to be able to feel and see their progress. I dont want to set unacheiveable goals. My style is to fit the students needs and get them to the level they want to be at but with in reason to where they are currently. I want my students to be inspired. I want them to want to practice. To want to push themselves and to see why and the results of what can happen when they do so. I often want to cater my teaching style to my student and not have a routine everyone is the same kind of plan or teaching style.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
