Overview:
I love music! I love sharing music! The best way I can share my love of music is to teach others, so that they may love music as much as I do. I have played the piano for many years, since I was a child. I recently graduated from The University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music, and from there I continued my education to become certified as a Florida Educator in Music.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching piano lessons for five years, while at college and since I have graduated. I like to keep things interesting for the student by devoting portions of the lesson times to different activities, which include technique and theory along with their regular lesson pieces. I also use incentives to increase their practice times between lessons, which, in turn, increases their sense of accomplishment!
METHODS USED
Each student is different, so I use different method books to suit how he or she learns. One student may learn quickly in note reading while another is stronger in memorization. I use classical repertoire to give the students a solid foundation, and then as they progress, I will introduce popular songs that they love. I incorporate music theory in all of my lessons because knowing theory opens many doors to what one can do with music! Students will be better equipped to write their own music along with understanding how their performance pieces were written. I also use technology to aid in learning, such as iPad applications.
LESSON STYLE
It feels like I embark on a musical adventure with each of my students! I love to see children's eyes lighting up when they understand a concept, or when they achieve mastery on a lesson! So, too, with adult students! As each student travels down his or her path of musical understanding, I am convinced that being able to share in their learning experience is a great gift.

We have 3 kids doing lessons with her 4,8, and 12, even thought they are different ages she is wonderful with them. The patience she has with the 4 year old is amazing and has different activities to help him learn. My kids love her.
