Hello! I am a Guitar instructor that has been teaching for 10 years +. I have taken lessons from world renowned guitar players including Paul Chapman from the band UFO. I love to interact with my students to find what drives them musically. From Jazz to Rock n Roll I have played and taught it all. My passion for music will never stop growing and I like to share my knowledge and experiences with my students.
I began teaching back in 2001. Mostly to friends and friends of friends which later inspired me to pursue owning a business. I have always loved to teach and interact with all levels of musicians. I have 2yrs of college level Classical guitar performance and study. I also have two years of study with a college Jazz Ensemble. I was an everyday Rock n roller before College and still love to jam on some new or classic rock. My experience with these two very different styles of music has helped me to become a better teacher and musician.
I teach from a book from the Berklee Press. IT has proven to be the best method to combine modern styles with traditional teaching methods. I teach students to read music and encourage them to compose their own piece by the end of 3 months. A mix between learning songs in the style that they are interested in and traditional music education seem to produce the best results.
My teaching style is loose but stern in the same respect. I insist in practice but am understanding toward the students priorities.
