I am a dedicated and experienced guitarist who loves helping aspiring guitarists achieve their goals with the instrument. I have played guitar myself for about 15 years, the last five or so professionally. I've had the opportunity to perform throughout Texas doing my own arrangements of contemporary music on classical guitar, performing at venues such as the Mansion on Turtle Creek and the Four Seasons. Music is my number one passion in life and I hope to help share that love with all the students I work with!
I have experience providing lesson content in both an in-person and online environment. I got started teaching originally providing informal instruction to friends who were learning guitar. They thought I excelled at it and encouraged me to pursue providing instruction further and so I started to seek out and find students to teach. I also have experience arranging popular music for classical guitar and set up a website to teach fingerstyle guitar through tutorials I provide on some of the songs I've arranged.
My methodology for teaching guitar is based on getting to know the student and their specific goals for the instrument. Are they looking primarily for a way to play along with their favorite songs, or would they like to get more invested in a deeper understanding of the technical side of learning music theory? Finding out their goals can help me shape the lesson plan with each individual student in mind, so that they can experience learning guitar in a way that is both fun and engaging for them.
I love seeing students develop a deep and lasting passion for the guitar! I want every student to feel at ease and comfortable while learning and help them set goals that push them to achieve whatever they set out to, while eager to learn more. My hope is to provide lessons in a clear and easy-to-follow to manner, so they can not only make progress in the lesson itself, but carry forward what they learn into their day-to-day practicing outside of the lessons and utilize the techniques effectively toward their progress on the guitar.
