I’m a professional guitarist that toured all over the country for the past 30 years. Shared the stage with many national acts I have endorsements from from Suhr Guitars and amps, jim dunlop products, & Heil microphones. I’ve been touring consistently with these products and the companies have been very kind. I love seeing someone start from nothing to make progress and progress over the lessons. I ensure that after a few weeks the student will reach milestones in their playing, as long as they practice.
I been playing professionally since age 13. I began teach in my late teens, but was touring so much didn’t have time to do it that much. Over the last 8-10 years I’ve been teaching regularly part time & really enjoy giving back & seeing someone be creative & use their talent & become something. I’ve watched my students win some awards in band at school, & move on to more schooling such as Berkeley. I’ve started rather early at the age of 7, so I’ve paid my dues. Played for 10 people to 20,000 people, and playing for the 10 people is just as much fun as playing for 20,000 people
I have my own way of teaching & get people inspired. I can usually get someone playing a few chords in the first lesson. I want to keep it fun, not boring. I ask if things need to be taken a bit slower but normally they are fine with the speed & style I go in. I want to make sure they are comfy not over exerting themselves in case of a injury. I start with getting to know your guitar, getting to know your neck. What things do? What things are? Making sure they understand. After teaching many people of all ages over the years I got to know what works best.
I like to make sure each student understands something before we move on to the next thing, I’ll review previous lessons durning the next lesson & and so one. I want it as clean as possible. Usually I’ll start off with getting to know the instrument. Make it comfy. And if they have issues with string height or size I can arrange to fix that for them. I’ve had that happen a few times recently. I just want someone not struggling. When you struggle you get discouraged. No need for that. I want my students comfy.
Excellent guitar teacher, very knowledgeable with all aspects of the guitar & music, I highly recommend Chris wether your a beginner, intermediate or advanced player
