Overview:
I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who enjoys sharing my passion by teaching my students the art of music. In 2018, I graduated from Musicians Institute in Hollywood, CA with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Guitar Performance. I have had many great experiences as a musicians such as touring all over the U.S. with several different artists/bands. I enjoy to write and produce music and had gotten the opportunity to work in a recording studio with a lot of great artists/bands. I have also had some work in recording guitar for a featured t.v. show called American Pickers.
EXPERIENCE
My experience teaching music goes back about 8 years ago when i graduated from High School. Going into college, i began takin on students whom were eager to learn or had an interest in playing music. Seeing how music has had a profound effect on my life, i began to have a passion for mentoring others. For any student, i would recommend they plan out a consistent practicing plan. I always find out what inspires my student and as well as the goals they would like to accomplish. My teaching is always tailored to making sure the student is having fun and growing as a musician. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my students succeed and grow as musicians.
METHODS USED
For beginning guitar students i typically like to go over basic and essential elements of playing guitar such as posture, how to correctly hold a pick, how to tune a guitar, etc; all depending on where they stand. As i can see that the student is able to have a grasp on a few fundamentals i like to introduce them to various chord and scale exercises. Primarily i like to teach my students of the CAGED system which does a great job in helping my students better discover the fretboard. From then i like to figure out the songs/music the student wishes to play and set a goal for them to successful learn and perform the song.
LESSON STYLE
I really find it important that a student moves at their on pace. This is encouraged by setting feasible goals for each student and to make sure that they are able to progress with no frustration. I also acknowledge a students accomplishes that way they are likely to feels confident and motivated for further progression. I always find out what inspires my student and what they wish to accomplish. My job as a teacher is to guide students in the right path. I do this by successfully tailoring my instruction to their wants and needs.
