I currently teach beginning and intermediate flute students in my home and in students homes in the Annapolis area. I believe music should be an enjoyable activity and tailor music selections to the interest of students while providing a good musical foundation.
I have over 10 years experience teaching flute in both a classroom and studio setting.
Most beginning students start with Accent on Achievement method book to learn note names, note values, and general music reading skills. Additional musical selections and books are chosen based on student skill and musical interests.
Lessons are geared to review past music learned, evaluate progress on current selections and self evaluation. Emphasis is placed on student identifying areas for improvement and what changes need to be made for those improvements.
