Overview:
I have been playing piano and studying music for 23 years. I have performed pieces by Chopin, Liszt, Bach, Pachelbel, and Moussorgsky. With only the use of my right hand, I adapt and arrange pieces so that I can play them with only six fingers. I will be able to teach you to play with both hands. I believe that Music should be available to every person on the earth because, music is what unites the world.
EXPERIENCE
I have had five years of teaching young children. I had two students under the age of ten. I had piano lessons for twenty years from Sue Corbett, the lead singer of the band blue 88. When I see a child learn, it gives me great pleasure.
METHODS USED
I will begin a student with the basics of reading music. Once the student can read music well enough, I will ask what piece they like and want to play. Based on their skill level, I will gauge whether or not the piece is within the skill level of the student. From there we will work towards perfecting the pieces that the student wants to play. My lessons are pretty laid back and mellow.
LESSON STYLE
I love to see my students evolve their ability as musicians. In my lessons, I will let the student pick the piece that they want to play, and we will work to perfect the piece that the student chooses. I don't believe in holding recitals in children under 10 unless the student wants to perform in a recital. When I see a child learn, it gives me great pleasure.
