Overview:
I was born to play drums... no kidding, as a third generation drummer in my family, I began beating on my dad's kit from the moment that I could hold a pair of sticks. My experiences in high school and college drumlines, as well as Drum Corps International provided a tremendous base of knowledge, discipline, and dedication to many years of playing live shows all over the country with hundreds of talented musicians. 37 years and 1000's of performances later, I'm excited to perform and to share what I know with anyone and everyone.
EXPERIENCE
I started teaching private lessons 23 years ago. I've taught people of all ages and backgrounds; it feels awesome to be the guy that ignites a passion for drums and percussion. Let's have fun and learn some cool stuff in the process.
METHODS USED
From the first lesson on, we will work on proper hand technique and body mechanics so that you can build strength/endurance/speed and avoid injury. I will open your ears to all the different sounds the drums and cymabals can make. We will explore great books, songs, and videos from amazing dummers and if you have a piece of music you want to learn, I will help with that as well.
LESSON STYLE
My mission is to be the catalyst of learning, creativity, and the joy of playing the drums. I am devoted to mentoring a student's growth and knowledge through focused direction in an encouraging environment.
