In 2017, I played in the Ohio State University Honor Band as well as the Wright State University Tri-State Honor Band and the Ohio University Honor Band Festival. I have also performed many solos at OMEA Solo and Ensemble. In 2015, I performed the class B piece Allegro by Antonio Vivaldi and received an excellent rating. In 2016, I performed the class A piece Concert Etude by Aleksandr Goedicke and received a superior rating. In 2017, I performed the class A piece Sonata (mvt. 2) by Eric Ewazen and received a superior rating. Lastly, in 2018, I performed the class A piece Sonata (mvt. 1) by Kent Kennan and received a superior rating. Throughout my career, I have won many awards. EXPERIENCE

I have volunteer experience doing 5 years of marching band and 2 of those 5 years, I was the section leader for the trumpet section. I also was an Intern as music teacher, student teaching, for 1 Semester of Senior year – 2017 – 2018. For my professional experience, I have done a few gigs on trumpet. I played at Messiah Lutheran Church in Reynoldsburg OH as a Trumpet Player for their Easter services.(4/21/19) and (4/1/2018). I also played at Reynoldsburg High School in Reynoldsburg OH where I Played trumpet in the Pit Orchestra for the Musical “9 to 5”. (3/15/18 – 3/17/18). Lastly, I played at Eastmoor High School in Columbus OH where I played trumpet in the Pit Orchestra for the Musical “The Color Purple”. (3/27/18 – 3/28/18) and (3/8/18 – 3/11/18). With giving lessons, I have worked giving lessons since 2016.

METHODS USED

Fundamentals are key. For all ages and all instruments, you will be working on scales, chord progressions, transposition and reading of music for piano; scales, lip slurs, technical etudes, long tones, transposition and reading of music for trumpet; and scales, slurs, technical studies, transposition and reading of music for flute. For all instruments, there will be one key book that will cover everything you need to know. If you work with me on a longer term, getting the book would not be a bad idea so you can practice at home, although it is not required by me. Depending on the level of skill, determines the level of work you work on at home and in lessons.

LESSON STYLE

I do not have a specific teaching style. Being a teacher is a learning experience for the teacher just as much as it is for the student. Every student learns a different way and can require a unique way of teaching. No one student will get the same teaching method. Overall, I do approach each lesson with patients, the wanting for the student to succeed and making the lesson fun but also productive. I believe in creating a balanced, safe, and enjoyable environment for the students and for me as the teacher to have a very good lesson.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
